Khwezi Times is a local newspaper covering local news in areas such as education, arts & culture, sports, politics, business, entertainment, crime, and community events. Founded late last year as the 2nd digital flagship project of the agency, Khwezi Times News is Zwelethemba's first local publication that targets predominately local residents and its stories are published in Xhosa, Sesotho, and English. The publication it’s distributed free of charge around the community.

The publication is the brainchild of a young community journalist John Bulani, who is a sole Director at Brand Media House. After working for almost 3-years as a freelance journalist for various publications, John decided to establish this newspaper as a response to the fact that there is no community newspaper that speaks directly to Zwelethemba residents, while the community has so many good and negative stories unfolding every day. In short Khwezi Times is dedicated at sharing information and telling informative stories that build Zwelethemba to be a better community.

The project is mainly aimed at becoming a powerful platform [voice of the people]; this entails vocally addressing community issues relating to youth employment, skills development, politics, crime, and fighting against children and women abuse. The agency through this project wants to ensure that Zwelethemba residents have access to useful informative content to empower themselves and the community.

Khwezi Times’ mission is to inform, educate and empower its readers by providing entertaining and informative content. This community newspaper has a commitment to be a powerful platform (voice of the community) in addressing community issues relating to youth employment, skills development, politics, crime, and fighting against children and women abuse.

Brand Media House (Pty) Ltd through Khwezi Times and other educational publications wants to ensure that its readers have access to useful informative content to empower themselves and inspire others.
