Siyafuneka Primary School (SPS) suffered embarrassing defeat on all accounts against Alfred Primary School (APS). Every time these two rivals meet only the grass suffers. With home ground advantage on their side, ASP came guns blazing from the word go.

 

As much as SPS U/10 had a tight defense line-up to prohibit the hosts from dictating the game in first -half, ASP young soldiers could only manage to win the game 2 – 0. ASP U/12 junior netball side nailed the visitors 3 - 0 on their second game to clinched their victory. As if that was not enough, ASP U/13 didn’t shy away from clinching another 7 – 0 victory. On the soccer field, ASP started on a more positive note as they won their first game 4 – 0. As if that was not embarrassing enough, SPS U/12 suffered another humiliation of 5 – 1 loss.

 

Taking motivation from the two previous games, ASP U/13 came to the game more determined to scoop a third consecutive victory of 3 – 1 to conclude these friendly games. Speaking to Khwezi Times, ASP educator and sports coordinator Junior Jayiya commended his teams for showing resilience and hunger to win. “Today’s challenge for both institutions served as a training exercise as we prepare for more intense games starting next month” said Jayiya.
