Mahlanyana back with a new album
Gospel sensation and songwriter, Abongile Mahlanyana is back in the music scene with his new latest 3rd album titled Lithunzi Eli [it's just a passing shadow]. This 12-tracks CD has been well received by gospel fanatics and the general public at large, while other pastors have criticized Abongile based on some of the tracks, especially track seven which warns Christians at large of "premature pastors" who minister to get rich easily. "Our churches are destroyed easily by these so-called pastors who seek luxury lifestyles and expensive cars from their churches while their congregants are suffering due to poverty, that's not the right gospel to preach" he warns.
This Gatyana-born artist has been out of the music circle for almost seven years; a break he took after receiving almost nothing from his second album that took a nose dive and drove him into serious debt. He explains: "I guess my break was because of the devastation of my previous album sales turn-out and also the production quality wasn't as sharp as hoped for then". In saving up for this new album, Abongile had to play keyboard in his church or any event in order to get paid. As he was still hustling hard to raise these funds, he met his long-time friend [good Samaritan] by the name of Veliswa Sidziya who contributed with R12 000 on top of what he had.
With enough funds to pursue this project forward, Abongile opted for Durban [eThekwini] in search for better production quality and state-of-the-art facilities to publishing this project in order to meet today's music industry standards. "eThekwini came highly recommended for better product and I didn't want the same poor quality I got in Cape Town for my previous project".
This father of three said this album has open doors for him career -wise and the latest online sales are impressively taking a positive direction than his two previous music projects. He wishes to also help other aspiring gospel artists who his voluntary assistance needs because he resonates with the Xhosa believe that "Umntu ngumntu ngabantu".
