Vusisizwe clinching top honours


Vusisizwe Secondary School (VSS) under the mentorship of Joe Matsau (District Senior Education Specialist) represented the Cape Winelads Education District at the provincial leg of the Nkosi Albert Luthuli Young Historians competition where the school excelled. VSS was declared the overall winner at the event held at the Old Mutual Business Park in Pinelands. Meshay Lukas and Xolisa Dyantyi obtained position 1 and 2 respectively in the Essay Writing Category while Lwazi Mbobo and Orlean de Jager obtained position 1 and 2 in the Letter Writing Category.


The winners will be proceeding to the National Leg of the competition to be held in Johannesburg. The competition is named after the first Nobel Peace laureate, Nkosi Albert John Luthuli. It falls part of the Department of Basic Education’s ongoing commitment to encourage the study of oral history in South Africa.
