Lithini has the winning formula for success
Lithini Nkosi (13) is a young learner from Zwelethemba High school who managed to achieve nine (9) distinctions in her grade. She has been number one in all the terms and she hopes to remain on top until she concludes this academic year. Her motivation comes mainly from her mother, uncle and teachers. This young girl has changed her work ethic from the transition of primary school to high school. She never received much distinctions in primary school as she only studied her work during exam preparation. Everything has changed since she figured out the winning formula success. Her winning formula for success in having a balanced day that covers academics, chores, exercise and relaxation.
Lithini believes that she needs to revise her subjects everyday if she wants to maintain her academic performance. Every day she follows a routine that helps her achieve a balanced life. When she gets home from school she washes her uniforms and cooks for an hour and a half. She then decides to perform a relaxing yoga activity that provides her the energy needed to tackle her academics. From 7h00pm until 8h00pm she then revises her work from all the subjects. She uses her weekends for assignments and entertainment. She also spends time with her family and friends on weekends. “My hobbies are reading, playing 30 seconds and watching movies” says Lithini.
This A-student has even discovered the E-learning app that assisted her in revising all 10 subjects. Teachers from Zwelethemba High school are now starting to use this app thanks to Lithini’s new discovery. Her English teacher Miss Davids adds,“Lithini is one learner that is destined for great things to come as she has a positive mind and never gives up when she has a weight from her shoulder. She has even helped me in making my teaching strategies easier with the help of this E-learning app from Vodacom.”
“Focus on school work and if you don’t get what you like then you will be forced to like what you get. Read books from libraries, they weren’t made to just gather dust. Eat a lot of healthy food, know your learning style and take it from there. Compete with yourself first then with others and by giving it your best. Always be positive and involve yourself with positive people. Do exercise to keep yourself busy and your mind focused on good things. Love yourself and that love will spread on everything on earth [including your books]. Rather be calm and take it slow because the faster you make it the quicker you will fall” advises Lithini.
